Felixnews.com – Sony officially announced the three free PlayStation Plus Essential games for May 2026 on Wednesday (April 29, 2026). Starting May 5, all PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim EA Sports FC 26 (PS5/PS4), Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5), and Nine Sols (PS5/PS4). All these games can be claimed until June 1, 2026.
PlayStation Plus Free Games for May 2026: EA Sports FC 26 Included!
As a favorite soccer game for millions, EA Sports FC 26 features updated gameplay based on player feedback, plus two new presets: Authentic Gameplay and Competitive Gameplay.
The game features over 20,000 players across 750+ clubs, national teams, 120+ stadiums, and 35+ leagues. As a bonus, PS Plus subscribers also receive the EA Sports FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack, which can be claimed via the product page on the PlayStation Store and is only available while the game is in the May lineup.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a standout surprise in this month’s lineup, considering this soulslike action RPG was just released in July 2025. Players take control of Wuchang, a female pirate warrior who awakens at the end of the Ming Dynasty with no memories.
Wuchang herself is infected with the mysterious “Feathering” disease, which transforms people into monsters, and must uncover the truth behind the outbreak while mastering various weapons and absorbing abilities from defeated enemies. Interestingly, Digital Bros just acquired this IP a few days ago.
Nine Sols rounds out the May lineup with a distinct style. This Metroidvania-style 2D action-platformer features Sekiro-style combat, wrapped in hand-drawn art. Players follow a hero seeking revenge by hunting down the 9 Sols, the powerful rulers of a world once governed by an ancient alien race.
Bonus for Premium Members
Exclusively for PS Plus Premium members, there’s an additional treat. Time Crisis, a port of the classic PS1 game released in 1997, will be available on May 19, 2026. This version features gyro aiming, quick save, a rewind feature, and visual enhancements. The game will also be available for purchase separately on the PS Store for PS5 and PS4 on the same date.
For those who haven’t claimed the April games yet, time is running out. Lords of the Fallen (PS5), Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream (PS5), and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (PS5/PS4) are only available until Monday (May 4, 2026) at midnight.
Note that PS Plus Essential games differ from those in the Extra and Premium tiers. Games you’ve claimed will remain in your library as long as your subscription is active, while games in the Extra and Premium catalogs may change at any time.
