Felixnews.com – The Kuwaiti government strongly condemns Iran’s attacks targeting its territory and causing casualties. Kuwait asserts its right to defend itself and take the necessary measures to protect the sovereignty of the state.
According to a report by the Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) on Wednesday (March 4, 2026), Kuwait sent two letters on March 3 to the United Nations (UN) and the President of the UN Security Council. The letters contained official protests against the attacks, which are said to have been carried out since February 28, 2026.
In its letter, Kuwait stated that the attacks targeted a number of civilian facilities and violated the country’s sovereignty and airspace. These actions were also deemed to be in violation of international law, the UN Charter, and international humanitarian law.
The Kuwaiti government reported fatalities, including two members of the armed forces, and dozens of others injured in the attack.

Kuwait reiterated its condemnation of attacks targeting its territory or other countries in the Gulf region. The country emphasized the right of self-defense as stipulated in Article 51 of the UN Charter, including the right to take measures it deems appropriate to protect its territory, airspace, citizens, and population.
Highlights Gulf Solidarity
Furthermore, Kuwait highlighted the importance of solidarity among member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The government emphasized that the security of the Gulf states is collective and indivisible. A threat to one member state, it stated, is a threat to the entire region.
Kuwait also urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to firmly condemn Iran’s attacks and take concrete steps to stop these violations, which it considers a threat to regional and global peace and stability.
Tensions escalated after Iran launched missile and drone attacks on several Gulf states, following the joint military operation by the United States and Israel against Tehran that began last weekend.
