Indonesian racer Veda Ega Pratama set a historic record after securing third place on the podium at the 2026 Moto3 Brazil race on Sunday (March 22).
Starting the race from fourth position, Veda Ega immediately surged into third place during the thrilling first lap at the Ayrton Senna Circuit.
After a strong start, Veda Ega faced difficulties and dropped back to 10th place midway through the race.
However, David Almansa’s accident while leading the race on lap 15 turned the race into a heated one.
Veda Ega put on a brilliant performance and secured the third podium. Meanwhile, Maximo Quiles secured the first podium, followed by Marco Morelli in second place.
“Veda Pratama takes his first #Moto3 podium in 3rd place! The first Indonesian rider to reach the GP podium,” MotoGP wrote.
This marks a historic milestone for Indonesian racing. No other Indonesian rider, other than Veda Ega, has ever reached the podium in the Moto3 grand prix class.
The positive result in Brazil marks the beginning of Veda Ega’s successful journey in Moto3 in 2026, following his fifth-place finish at the Thailand MotoGP at the Chang International Circuit.
