Saudi Arabia Issues Strong Warning to Iran Regarding Middle East Conflict

Felixnews.com – Saudi Arabia has warned Iran not to continue attacks on the kingdom’s territory or energy sector as armed conflict heats up in the Middle East.

According to The Telegraph on Sunday (March 8, 2026), several sources familiar with the diplomatic talks stated that Riyadh had delivered a firm message to Tehran that continued attacks could trigger retaliatory measures from Saudi Arabia.

However, the kingdom reiterated its support for resolving the Iran-U.S. conflict through diplomatic channels.

Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized to Gulf states for previous Iranian attacks, which reportedly hit several civilian targets.

The apology was seen as Tehran’s attempt to defuse rising regional tensions stemming from the conflict involving Iran, the US, and Israel.

Two days before the speech, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also spoke directly with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to convey Riyadh’s position.

In that conversation, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its support for various mediation efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a negotiated resolution to the conflict.

Diplomatic sources stated that Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states also reiterated their refusal to allow the United States (US) to use their airspace or territory to launch attacks against Iran.

However, Riyadh also warned that if Iranian attacks on Saudi territory or strategic energy facilities continued, the kingdom could take different action.

In such a situation, Saudi Arabia could reportedly allow US forces to use military bases on its territory for military operations, while also opening up the possibility of retaliation against attacks targeting the kingdom’s vital energy sector.

These sources also stated that Saudi Arabia maintains communication with Iran through diplomatic channels, including through the ambassadors of both countries.

The escalating tensions in the Gulf region have raised global concerns about the potential for a wider regional conflict, which could have significant impacts on security stability and global energy supplies.
